With our solutions, we ensure environmental protection and durability in industries working with hazardous substances. Sustainability is therefore a core part of the KVK Koerner DNA.

Our central mission at KVK Koerner is to provide our customers with plants that are increasingly durable, efficient, and safe. Especially in hot-dip galvanizing plants, pickling plants, and other surface-treatment industries, there is enormous potential to save energy and chemicals, as well as to prevent emissions. Thanks to particularly resistant materials and coatings, the lifespan of plants can be extended many times over. This saves hard cash and protects our environment.

Our own production also continuously leads by example, as proven by the EcoVadis award for sustainable processes received by KVK Koerner.

How we make plants more sustainable

    Acid-, impact-, fire- and corrosion-resistant materials

    The special KVK construction panels used to manufacture our tanks are characterized by exceptional durability. Even aggressive acids cannot harm them. Compared to similar solutions, they are also highly impact- and fire-resistant, helping to minimize potential damage.

    Protecting components through coating and enclosure

    Not only components made from our KVK composite material benefit from our solutions. also other components achieve significantly longer lifespans. Thanks to our GRP-coatings, steel structures and concrete are better able to withstand aggressive acids and vapors. With our enclosed systems, plant components such as cranes do not even come into contact with the chemicals.

    No local emissions thanks to encapsulation

    Escaping vapors are often a major burden on the environment in pickling and galvanizing plants - and especially on employees in the factory. Thanks to our encapsulation, essentially a "hall within a hall", combined with state-of-the-art exhaust air technology, these vapors do not leak out to the workforce or escape the facility.

    Recovery of heat and chemicals

    The encapsulated plants from KVK Koerner are closed-loop systems where nothing goes to waste. The waste heat can be repurposed, just like certain chemicals filtered by our exhaust air scrubbers. Much of this can be fed back into the system, making the plants significantly more efficient.

    Smart tools for optimizing the pickling process

    The Pickling Optimizer helps determine the optimal mixing ratios for hydrochloric acid in pickling processes, achieving best results with minimal energy and chemicals. The Pickling Timer also supports energy savings by calculating optimal pickling times and temperatures.

    Easy Refurbishment

    KVK Pickling tanks can be repaired quickly in the event of minor damage and refilled after a short curing time. Existing older systems can also be individually upgraded with our technology to give them a second life instead of replacing them entirely. Our experts always strive to find the most efficient balance of existing and new plant components.

At KVK Koerner clear guidelines are maintained across the entire chain to conserve resources and treat everyone fairly. This dedication has now been recognized.
