KVK pickling tanks: customised solutions for extreme conditions
Durability and efficiency - this is what the KVK Koerner pickling tank stands for, developed for challenging industrial applications and extreme environments.KVK Koerner has made a name for itself in the industry with its high-quality pickling tanks, which are made from special KVK chemical construction panels. These tanks are ideal for use in the most demanding conditions, such as those found in hot-dip galvanising plants and other corrosive environments.
Robust material
KVK Koerner's pre-treatment tanks are made of the high-strength KVK chemical construction board. This innovative material combination, developed by company founder Hans Körner, consists of an impact-resistant synthetic ceramic core and glass fibre laminate layers applied on both sides. This construction guarantees exceptional strength and durability under extreme conditions.
Chemical resistance
The individual pickling tanks effectively resist the most aggressive chemicals used in pickling processes, such as hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, acidic and alkaline degreasing agents, fluxing agents and various passivating agents. This resistance ensures that the containers retain their integrity even with intensive use.
Temperature and fire resistance
In contrast to conventional PP and PE sheets, KVK panels belong to the duroplast category. These exhibit hardly any deformation or loss of strength when exposed to heat. Particularly at high temperatures, such as those reached in fluxing and passivation baths, KVK pamels prove to be much better than PP and PE boards. The latter tend to become brittle when exposed to high temperatures over long periods of time. KVK panels also stand out from PP and PE plastics in terms of fire resistance. While the latter start to burn quickly and can accelerate fires, KVK tanks actually have a fire-retardant effect and make fire-fighting much easier.
No welded seams
The walls of KVK pickling tanks are manufactured in one piece, seamlessly and without seams along their entire length. This eliminates weak points and thus increases reliability and tightness under industrial operating conditions. The seamless design also facilitates cleaning and maintenance, ideal for long-term use. This is another significant advantage compared to tanks made of PP and PE plastics, as these have many linear metres of weld seams.
Minimal maintenance costs
The unique design and material of the KVK pickling tanks minimise maintenance costs. Even in the event of damage, repairs can be carried out quickly and cost-effectively, minimising interruptions to operation. If, for example, a sharp-edged steel part hits the tank wall during the pickling process, only minimal superficial damage occurs. This minor damage to the pickling bath can be repaired quickly and easily by your own personnel. After a short curing time of approx. 4 hours, the pre-treatment tank can be refilled immediately.
Long service life
Thanks to their robust design, KVK pickling tanks achieve a service life of 20 to 30 years or more without any significant maintenance costs. Pickling plants throughout Europe and other continents prove every day that you can rely on KVK Koerner for the construction of pickling plants.
Customised solutions
We understand that every plant has unique requirements, which is why KVK Koerner not only offers standard solutions, but also customises the pre-treatment tanks specifically to the customer's needs and requirements, including a wide range of accessories and configuration options.
