Important Information Regarding a Personal Data Breach

Koerner Chemieanlagenbau Ges.m.b.H. has been affected by a cyberattack (ransomware attack). Essential IT systems were encrypted and have not yet been fully restored.

Based on the information currently available, we cannot rule out that unauthorized third parties have accessed personal data and/or that data has been exfiltrated. In particular, this may include data relating to employees as well as business partners and their contact persons.

Investigations are ongoing. The precise scope of the data and individuals affected cannot yet be conclusively determined. As a precaution, we must assume that a substantial portion of our data, including personal data, may have been affected.

Depending on the data actually affected, phishing and fraud attempts, identity misuse, or the unauthorized disclosure of confidential information cannot be ruled out. We therefore recommend exercising increased caution when receiving unusual emails, messages, or other communications.

We immediately initiated measures to contain and investigate the incident and to secure and restore our systems, and engaged external IT and security experts.

As our systems are not yet fully available and individually notifying all potentially affected persons would currently involve disproportionate effort, this information is being provided for the time being through this public communication pursuant to Article 34(3)(c) of the GDPR.
